Which dark spots it is for
Cosmelan is an intensive treatment. It makes sense when a spot is persistent or keeps coming back.
Melasma
Symmetrical patches on the cheeks, forehead or upper lip. Internal factors such as hormones and genetics play a part, as do external ones like sun, heat, pollution or some medications, including contraceptives. It is the main indication.
Stubborn spots
Spots that have not improved with other depigmenting products or that come back every time the sunny weather returns.

Results depend more on consistency than intensity. These are its three stages.

First weeks
Start
Cosmelan 2 as directed, melan recovery to soothe the skin and Mesoprotech every morning. It is normal for your skin to peel, turn red, itch or sting. These are signs the treatment is working. If at any point you find it hard to tolerate or notice any adverse effect, message us and we will look at it with you.

The following months
Correct
The spot gradually fades. If you need to skip an application now and then, that's fine, the treatment may take a little longer. What you can't skip is your sunscreen.

Maintain
Once the spot has faded, the goal becomes stopping it from coming back. We will set you up with a good maintenance skincare routine, always with daily sun protection.

It's the most common question. The difference is whether you are starting the treatment or already in the middle of it.

Without sun protection, it does not work
This part is non-negotiable. The sun, even on cloudy days and in winter, reactivates melanin production and can undo months of work in a few weeks. The home pack already includes Mesoprotech melan 130+, whose tint also protects against visible light. Apply it every morning and reapply during the day if you are outdoors.

FAQ
How long before I see results?
Pigmentation results are measured in months, not days. The change is gradual and consistency matters more than intensity. Applying it properly every day for months works better than starting very strong and giving up.
Can I do the treatment without going to a clinic?
Yes, the Cosmelan home pack is designed to be used at home. If you are not sure whether your spot needs Cosmelan or a gentler depigmenting product, message us before buying.
Can melasma be treated?
Yes, it can be treated and improved a lot, but it does not go away for good. It tends to come back with sun exposure or hormonal changes, which is why the maintenance stage is not optional.
Can I do the treatment in summer?
It depends more on you than on the calendar. If you are going to protect your skin properly, with SPF every morning reapplied during the day, a cap or hat and avoiding the midday sun, or if you simply do not sunbathe, you can. If you are heading to the beach and know you will not follow the routine, it is not the right time, as unprotected exposure can make spots come back or darken. That is why, in most cases, we recommend starting in autumn.
Can I combine it with retinol or acids?
No. During the treatment, Cosmelan should not be combined with retinol or other acids or exfoliants, because your skin is already working hard and adding them would irritate it further. What it needs is the opposite, a simple routine that hydrates it and helps repair its barrier, like melan recovery, which is already in the pack. If you have questions about any product in your routine, message us before using it.
